Points of Light Foundation
makes volunteering easy

Do you want to make a difference in someone's life? Perhaps you want to be more connected to your community, more involved in making where you live a better place. There are reading programs, book drives, river clean-ups, health fairs, food drives and many, many other options from which to choose.

All it takes is one telephone call to 1-800-VOLUNTEER (1-800-865-8583), a toll-free number established by the Points of Light Foundation to help connect more people to volunteer activities in their communities.

Dial the number and when prompted, enter the zip code for the area where you want to volunteer. You'll be connected to the local community Volunteer Center working with the Points of Light Foundation, where a staff member will discuss available opportunities and try to match them with your interests and availability.

The Points of Light Foundation is the sponsor of National Volunteer Week, which this year is April 18-24. The group's web site is www.pointsoflight.org.
