Volunteers are needed for the Fayette County Special
Olympics annual Track and Field Event on Thursday, April
1. Local service organizations and individuals are encouraged
to participate in this exciting event which will be held at
Fayette County High School in Fayetteville. Volunteers will
be needed from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Anyone interested in
volunteering for the set-up crew will need to arrive at 7:00 a.m.
Volunteers will help the athletes by timing
events, measuring the distance of softball throws, starting
events, awarding medals, encouraging athletes and many other
duties. No previous experience is required. All volunteers
will receive a t-shirt. Donations also are needed to provide
fruit, water and Gatorade for the volunteers and athletes.
Volunteers are asked to bring a sack lunch and a water bottle.
