Fayette County High Schools are ranked tops in the state, based on a new grading system now in place. According to Dr. John DeCotis, assistant superintendent for curriculum, the new state method ranks school districts of like size and socio-economic groups according to high school graduation test scores. "We came out highest in the state," DeCotis said. "I'm pleased that we did so well." Fayette County had the highest percentage of students passing the test in all comparison categories and subject areas. The school district also had the highest percentage of students scoring in the Pass Plus category, which recognized students who exceeded the minimum passing score.
