Schlotzsky's Deli

Hungry patrons will smack their lips at the next deli making its way to Fayetteville this spring.

With the demand continuing to rise for the taste of fresh bread in a homestyle setting, Schlotzsky's Deli is prepared to go head to head with some of the local competition in this arena.

The Deli boasts that its homemade sourdough, wheat, dark rye and jalepeno cheese buns are made daily served in virtually any fashion. And their edge over other delis is the huge selection of hot sandwiches from the Santa Fe Grilled Chicken to the Pastrami Reuben.

The sandwich "that made us famous" continues to be a best seller named appropriately as The Original. A toasted sourdough bun topped with ham, Genoa salami and cotto salami along with mozzerella, cheddar and parmesan and black olives, onion, lettuce and tomato shows Schlotzsky's spares nothing to make a hearty sandwich.

Plus, the light eaters and dieters can take their pick from four low-calorie sandwiches and at least six kinds of salads that can't be found on many other menus in the area. The Chinese Chicken Salad is made of Romaine lettuce piled high with grilled chicken breast, sesame seeds, chow mein noodles, green onion and mandarin oranges with a side of Spicy Thai Peanut dressing.

The only thing comparable to the sandwiches at Schlotzsky's is the sourdough crust pizzas.

Individual eight-inch pizzas are all adorned with their famous tomato pesto sauce and mozzerella cheese with a huge variety of toppings unique to other chains.

The selection includes Chicken & Pesto, Smoked Turkey & Jalapeno, Bacon Tomato & Mushroom and then of course more traditional style pies. The Barbeque Chicken with an herbed sourdouh crust, strips of grilled chicken breast, barbecue sauce, onion, jalapeno peppers, mozzerella and cheddar cheeses is a favorite among patrons.

Prices at Schlotzsky's Deli range from $5-6 per person, including chips and a drink. Locals can currently enjoy the deli open on Ga. Highway 74 in Peachtree City.
