Dining Guide
By. F.C. Foodie Dining Critic
Normally, I usually give a restaurant a couple of weeks before a judgement, but this time I'm going to make an exception Nick's Steakhouse and Sport Cafe, located behind Mrs. Winner's in Fayetteville, is this month's winner of the Citizen's Choice for dining award. The restaurant is housed in the old Memphis Blues Cafe. While the kitchen is still working on perfecting the menu, my first impression is that this will be a welcome addition to the county's dining scene. Nick's specializes in steaks and the owner is insistent on quality and said all steaks will be cut on the premises and only fresh beef will be used. The chef, Thien Hu Le, has worked with Nick since 1992 and has 19 years experience in the restaurant business. The cafe's signature dish is an eight-ounce lobster tail and Nick emphasizes he will not cut corners on ingredients and use only the top of the line food to ensure his patrons leave happy. While waiting for lunch or dinner, customers can sample some of the video games Nick has installed or perhaps play a game of billiards. The restaurant also has an 80-inch television that looks to be ideal for watching this weekend's Sweet 16 matchups in the NCAA basketball tournament. During lunch last week, the restaurant featured several low priced specials including Chicken Terriyaki and a quiche that is a welcome respite from the other choices of fast food abounding in the county. Nick eventually plans to have live entertainment on the weekend and the combination of games, food and entertainment looks like the newest winner in Fayette's dining world. Would you like to tell us what you think of this story?
