Cadets tour air base,
get airlifted by C-17

Thirteen Cival Air Patrol cadets from the Peachtree City Falcon Field Composite and Clay Memorial Squadrons immersed themselves in military and aviation history during a recent weekend. The trip included a visit to the Charleston Air Force Base operations center, a tour of the aircraft carrier Yorktown and Patriot's Point, The Citadel, and a rousing game of Trivia to review the events of the weekend.

Although there were plenty of displays and things to learn in historic Charleston and at the Air Force Base, a highlight of the weekend was the round trip airlift provided by the Air Force in the C-17. Cadets were able to visit the cockpit and observe the advanced systems such as the Head Up Display (HUD) and Forward Looking Infra-Red (FLIR) System.

Cadets who participated in the trip were: John Nelson, Brandon Jones, "Trivia King" Ted Curran, Ben Bisch, Ryan Faucett, David Dale, Joe Curran, and John Waters.
