That evening, the company, which is one of the Metro South area's most active home builders, will announce the names of area realtors who are the winners in The Knight Group's annual realtor promotion. The festivities, which begin at 7 p.m., will consist of a reception, a dinner and the awards presentation.

The Grand Prize winner, the realtor selling the most Knight homes during the past year, will have the choice of a London trip for two, a Paris trip for two or a Caribbean cruise for two.

Other prizes to be presented that evening include:

* trip for two, including golf, to the King & Prince Hotel on St. Simons Island for the broker from the office selling the most Knight homes during the year.

* a weekend for two at the King & Prince for the realtor registering the most prospects during the year at Knight communities.

* a drawing for a $250 prize from the names of agents selling Knight homes during the year.

The year 1998 was the fourth year that The Knight Group has conducted its Realtor Promotion. Knight communities participating in the program last year included Glynn Addy, Pleasant Grove, and Summerlake in Henry County; Biscayne Pointe and Harbour Town at River's Edge Plantation in Clayton County; Meadow Glen in South Fulton County; Poplar Pointe in Spalding County; and Riverbend Overlook in DeKalb County.

The Knight Group, formerly known as Knight Development, is a family business based in Jonesboro. The company had its beginning in 1973, when brothers Scott and Perry Knight starting framing houses for Metro South builders. The Knight brothers got into the home building business in the late 1970s. Perry's son Jay, who has been with the company since 1982, is now the president of The Knight Group.

At the present time, the company is building approximately 250 homes a year.
