A Schlotzky's Deli restaurant planned next to Picadilly at Banks Road and Ga. Highway 85 came a step closer to reality last week and was expected to be approved last night.

Fayetteville's Planning Commission approved a special exception to allow a drive-through at the restaurant last week, and Tuesday was expected to consider development plans for the restaurant.

Commissioners also voted to recommend a zoning change to allow an office park at 265 N. Jeff Davis Drive. The City Council will conduct first reading of the proposed change in zoning from R-30 (residential) to O-I (office-institutional) during its work session tonight and business meeting Monday. Second reading will be scheduled for council's next meeting, April 5.

Plans for a Steak and Shake restaurant just south of Fayette Pavilion on Hwy. 85 are off for now. The Planning Commission denied the company's development plan last week.

Developers have withdrawn a rezoning request to allow a hotel, shops and a restaurant on Hwy. 85 across from Roberd's, north of town.
