The Fayette County United Way is accepting nominations for Volunteer Youth of the Year until March 15. According to Kristi McMahan, Fayette County United Way area director, candidates must have exhibited outstanding volunteerism in the community in the past year and must be Fayette County residents and high school students. Their service must be truly voluntary, and not performed to meet school or graduation requirements. Nomination forms may be obtained by calling 770-254-8497. The Volunteerism Committee of the United Way in Fayette County will select the winner, who will be recognized in April, Volunteer Month, at a special thank you event. An adult volunteer of the year will also be recognized. The committee will vote for Volunteer of the Year from the monthly winners of 1998. |
