The annual Miss Sandy Creek Pageant will be Saturday, March 6, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the commons area of Sandy Creek High School. The pageant is a fund-raiser to benefit the Sandy Creek High School Chorus. This year's pageant will feature 28 young women competing in the areas of school spirit, grades, class participation, beauty and poise. The contestants are sponsored by school clubs and organizations or contenders can enter independently. Pageant judges include Roy Jordan, executive director of the Miss Georgia Teenager, Miss Alabama Teenager, Ms. Petite Georgia and Mrs. Georgia pageants; Lynn Stringer, Mrs. Georgia of 1998; and Sarah Fallowfield, Ms. Petite Georgia of 1998. The winner of the pageant receives a $100 savings bond; the first and second runners up each receive a $50 savings bond. The contestants' escorts will be modeling prom fashions from Mitchell's Formal Wear of Shannon Mall. Admission to the pageant is $5 at the door. |
