Now's the time to start putting together your teams for
this spring's softball (openand church divisions)
and volleyball leagues. Registration will be
held on the following dates: Mar. 1 and 2 for returning teams and
Mar. 3and 5 for new teams. For more information call Athletic

The Ladies AM Golf League will be kicking off at The Links
golf club on Wednesdays starting Mar. 3. The league is open to
women ages 18 and older at a cost of $60 per person. The fee covers
greens fee and clinic only. Patricipants must bring their own set of clubs.
The Co-Rec tennis league will begin on Thursdays starting
onb Apr. 15 from 7:30- 9:30 p.m. Teams will consist of two men and
two women. Sign up as a group or you will be placed with a group.
The league is open to adult tennis players (USTA rated 2.5 -4.5) The
cost is $25 per person.
A Spring Break Golf camp will be offered at the Wee Links at
the Links Golf Course from Monday Apr. 5 - Friday Apr. 9. The class
is open to children aes 6-16 at a cost of $55 per child. Each participant
is required to bring their own set of clubs, including a putter.
The Soccer Centre in Fayetteville is registering for the
Spring Adult Indoor Soccer season that begins April12. Teams will be
organized into Mens' Open, Co-ed, Over 30 and the new Over
40 Master's Leagues. Each team will play seven regular season
games plus a post season tournament for all teams. Leagues play on
weekday evenings only (Monday-Thursday). Team fee is $480 and
the registration deadline is April 2. Individuals may call and be placed on
a pickup list. Schedules will be posted on the web site at

The Atlanta Silverbacks, Atlanta's newest professional soccer
team, will play an exhibition indoor soccer
match against The AFC Lightning Coaches
on Saturday,Mar.6 at the Soccer Centre in fayetteville. Many of the
Lightning coaches have played at the professional level around
the United States. There will be a player clinic from 6 -6:45 p.m. provided
by the Silverback players and Lightning coaches. Kickoff will be
7:30 p.m. The admission is $5 in advance or $6 at the door.
Admission includes a ticket to the Silverbacks home opener Apr. 17 against

On Monday, Apr.19, Christian City will host their annual
Spring Children's Golf Classicat Georgia National Golf Course
in MDonough.There will be prizesand trophies in this Ft. Lauderdale
format tournament. For $125, golfers can play this beautiful course.
The cost includes lunch,dinner and a tax -deductible donation of $85
to the Christian City Home for Children.Hole sponsorships

The 1999 "Lung" golf privilege
card is on sale now. The card offers free or reduced
green fees at over 600 courses for only $25. Buy three and you get
the fourth one for free. Last year the Golf Privilege card raised

March 6, 7 and 8th, Peachtree City is hosting the
Gatorade Peach State National, a major NBL Bicycle Motocross Event. The
best racers in the country will descend upon Wiliam L. Davis BMX race
for valuable national points, prizes and cash awards. The three-day
event is expected to draw draw more than 5,000 spectators and
participants. William L. Davis BMX is locate on Kelly Drive near the
intersection of Hwy.74 and Kelly Drive in Peachtree City.
The event officially begins Friday afternoon with practice and
registration In the evening a pre-race will be held from 6:30 to 9
p.m. Saturday begins with registration, bike inspections and practice at
7 a.m. Racing starts at 11 a.m. and will continue until late in the
afternoon. And then on Sunday racing will begin promptly at 8 a.m.

New Hope Baptist Church is accepting registration applications
for the Fall 1999 T-Ball and 7-8 Baseball
League. Registration will be through Mar.1 -15. The
season begins Apr. 17. This league is open to all residents of Fayette
and surrounding counties. Applications are available and will be
accepted at New Hope Baptist Church, Mon. -Fri. 8a.m.-5 p.m.

provide quality recreation for children with an emphasis on fundamental

On Wednesday, Mar. 31 White water Country Club will host
their 11th annual "Tune Up for The Masters"
Fayette County Chamber of Commerce Golf
Tournament. The tournament will be a four
person/Ft. Lauderdale format at a cost of $95 per player. the cost
includes: cart, green fees, lunch, range, prizes and dinner. Lunch and
registration begins at 11 a.m., tee off is at noon. For more

Kedron Fieldhouse and Aquatic Center is having a
three-point shootout on April 3 at 10 a.m. The shootout will be a
competition to see how many three-point shots a person can make in a
certain amount of time. The participants with the best scores will
advance to the next round. Sign up now and reserve your spot for the
shoot-out. The cost is only $5 and the categories go from age 8 to

The Fayette County Youth Soccer League is still
accepting registrations for the Outreach Program for Soccer (TOPS)
for physically and mentally challenged boys and girls, ages 6 to 19.
The cost is $40 per year, and we are hoping to participate in the
