The Fayette County Tiger baseball team took on Creekside last week in a non-region match up. The Tigers Brad Latham scored in the second inning off of a single by Cory Bowen. The 1-0 lead remained intact until the next inning, when the Tigers added one more off of a Brad Latham single. The Tiger defense had been outstanding, allowing no hits and throwing out a man leading off at first. Lee Roberson, the junior pitcher, had struck out four batters and not allowed a hit until the fourth inning.

It was in the fourth inning that things began to gat scary for the 7th ranked Tigers. Roberson gave up a leadoff double and then hit the next batter with the pitch. The pitch after that was slammed for a three-run homerun. Roberson then struck out three of the next four batters. The Tigers had their backs to the wall in the fifth inning but produced. They loaded the bases with the first three batters off of a walk and two hits. Brad Latham hit a double and scored two runs, while Bryan Davis and Cory Bowen each hit sacrifice flys to score two more runs. The Tigers led 6-3 and only gave up one more run in the win. The Tigers host Landmark tonight at 7 p.m. and will host the Sandy Creek Patriots on Friday at 6 p.m.

In late baseball scores from Monday, Starr's Mill lost to Creekside by a score of 10-8 and Sandy Creek beat Westlake 11-6.
