Organizers of the Jesus Video Project Georgia are encouraging Christians to pray each day between now and March 28 for specific areas related to the direct mailing of the gospel video to every home in the state. During these 40 days of prayer, Christians are also being asked to consider fasting each Monday. The prayer requests for this week are: Today: Pray for protection in all areas from the enemy. II Corinthians 10:3-5 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. Thursday: Pray for the attitude of Christians in Georgia. II Corinthians 5:20 We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. Friday: Pray for work sessions and planning meetings. Hebrews 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching. Saturday: Pray for a Christian response to those opposing the video. I Timothy 2:1-4 I urge ... that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. Sunday: Pray for direction in follow-up. James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. Monday: Pray for God's glory to be seen. Galatians 6:14 May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Tuesday: Pray for a hunger and thirst for God. Psalm 42:1 As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. Excerpt from the Unity Prayer Rally, held Feb. 7 at First Baptist Church of Peachtree City: Mary Lance Sisk, national speaker and organizer of neighborhood prayer partner efforts, said, "You have been put by God in your neighborhood to seek God for your neighbors. "People in your neighborhood are broken, sick, terminally ill with AIDS," she continued. "There are gay couples, unmarried couples, elderly people that are so scared, kids who come home and there is no one there, single mothers so worn out they just can't take it, retired people who do nothing all day but sit home and watch TV. "God has given you everything you need to do the job."
