Spring is here with SportsFest

The 1999 Georgia Games Spring SportsFest will take place in Duluth at Johns Creek on Mar.7.

The SportsFest, which attracted more than 750 participants last year at the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers, is moving closer to the Georgia Games core of volunteers and athletes. This day long festival of competitive and noncompetitive sporting events and activities open to competitors of all ages and skill levels. Athletes can participate in a number of events including a 5K run, biathalon, triathalon, competitive skating and mountain biking. As always, volunteers are needed to ensure the success of the 1999 Spring SportsFest.

In addition to the events, there will be a mini-expo of exhibitors and entertainment for participants and spectators. Over $5,000 in prizes, including AirTran Airline Tickets, will be randomly given away throughout the day. Concessions will be available for all who attend.
