*Trash pickup in Fayetteville will cost residents an additional 8¢ per month under a new contract approved by City Council last week. Most residents also will see their pickup day change.

In turn, Georgia Waste Management Company will pick up yard waste twice a year, spring and fall, and will offer a special pickup the first business day after Christmas under the new contract.

The contract, increasing the home pickup rate to $11.11 per month, also allows the company to divide the city into five sectors, picking up five different days each week.

*Jim Winkler will serve as president of the Wellington Place Homeowners Association for the 13th straight year.

Also recentlynamed as officers of the association were newcomer David Wardell, vice president; Hugh McKinney, treasurer, and Debbie Morris, secretary.

County Commissioner Linda Wells updated the association on traffic issues, natural gas prices, recreation and plans for a new senior center during its recent organizational meeting.

Winkler told Wells that traffic through the subdivision has increased since the county installed a traffic light at the neighborhood's entrance from Ga. Highway 54. "Maybe it's time to rekindle the speed hump plan," he said.
