*Golda Williams of Fayetteville turns 100 years old Feb. 24, and friends are asking City Council to proclaim that date Golda Williams Day in Fayetteville.

Council will consider that request in its meeting tomorrow at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

Williams also will gather with about 400 of her closest friends and family for a birthday celebration Feb. 27, 2 - 4 p.m. at East Point Church of Christ, where she is a longtime member.

* There have been 17 traffic crashes in two years at Gingercake Road and Graves Road, according to the Fayette County Sheriff's Department.

At the suggestion of Major Wayne Hannah, head of the department's traffic division, the County Commission has agreed to make the intersection a four-way stop.

* Schlotsky's Deli is the latest restaurant to consider locating next to Picadilly, Ga. Highway 85 at Banks Road. Crown Capital Corp. is seeking approval of a plan to put the restaurant and retail shops on 6.8 L-shaped acres that surround Picadilly's.

The request will be heard by the city Planning Commission Feb. 23 at 7:30 p.m.
