Despite a ragged beginning with repeated landscaping negotiations with Peachtree City, Don Pablo's Mexican Restaurant is set to open in "two weeks to a month with a site we think looks very good," says City Planner David Rast. The restaurant is the first of a series of businesses scheduled for the corner of Ga. Highway 54 and 74, but nothing else is "out of the ground" yet, Rast added. The Don Pablo's owners have cooperated with the city to add extra vegetation on the site, he said. Meanwhile, a shopping center at "Marketplace" is at the stage of "building pad completion," Rast said, but no foundations have been poured. Final site plans have been approved for On The Border and Chili's Restaurants, but no construction is under way, he noted. "The site has been modified and stabilization is started," he said. "We know that residents have been concerned, and we are working with the developers every day, not just on controlling erosion at the site but to clean up some that has already left the site."
