The Joe Tennant Memorial Foundation has announced it is providing a $1,000 contribution to Peachtree City Boy Scout Troop 175 and Cub Pack 75 to purchase a new "Resusci Annie" CPR mannequin. Dan Tennant, trustee for the foundation and father of Joe Tennant, who died in 1997 at the age of 14 of an asthma attack, made the contribution to Scout leaders Robey Hartley and Paul Spivey. A Boy Scout himself, Joe Tennant was very involved in his community and church, and enjoyed sports, music and his friends. "I know Joe would be honored to have his name once again associated with the Scouts, particularly in a capacity where someone's life may be saved as a result of CPR training," Dan Tennant said. The foundation was set up to benefit worthwhile causes and organizations in Joe's name. Its primary fund-raiser is a charity golf tournament, The Joe Tennant Memorial Classic, scheduled this year for April 30 at Flat Creek Club in Peachtree City. Anyone interested in playing in the tournament or sponsoring a hole should call Dan Tennant, 770-486-8410.
