The Fayette Youth Soccer League and the Georgia State Soccer Association will be offering soccer coaching classes in the month of February. The "F" class will be Saturday, Feb.13 and the "E" class will be Feb. 19-21. Call Chris Williams at 770-461-3869 for additional information.

The Fayette County Youth Soccer League is still accepting registrations for the Outreach Program for Soccer (TOPS) for physically and mentally challenged boys and girls, ages 6 to 19. Spring Indoor Muppet Soccer League for four- and five- year- old players. The season runs from Friday, April 16 to June 5. All games will be played on Monday or Friday evenings. The registration fee is $40 and includes a team t-shirt. Registration will be held Saturdays Feb.13 and Feb. 20 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Soccer Centre. The Peachtree City Recreation Department is offering league play in adult softball again this Spring. Play will be available for men and women in a variety of leagues, such as Open, Church, Industrial and Co-Ed. An organizational meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 25 for the purpose of entering teams in this program. The meeting will start promptly at 7:30 p.m. and will be held at the Kedron Field House and Aquatic Center, located at 202 Kedron Drive. Team representatives are asked to come prepared to complete a registration form which will be provided. Entry fees will be determined based on the number of teams in a particular league divided into the total cost to operate the league.

League play is tentatively scheduled to begin the last week of March.

The Lightning Red and Black Under-15 Premier-A teams have several open positions. Any registered Fayette County Youth Soccer League Recreational Player interested in filling one of these positions is invited to attend a practice session with the two teams on Feb. 20 at McCurry Park soccer complex, Cumbie Field, 2-4 p.m. Any players not currently registered with a soccer league must complete a registration form prior to the practice session. Now's the time to start putting together your teams for this spring's softball (openand church divisions) and volleyball leagues. The Ladies AM Golf League will be kicking off at The Links golf club on Wednesdays starting Mar. 3. The league is open to women ages 18 and older at a cost of $60 per person. The fee covers greens fee and clinic only. Patricipants must bring their own set of clubs.

The Co-Rec tennis league will begin on Thursdays starting onb Apr. 15 from 7:30- 9:30 p.m. Teams will consist of two men and two women. Sign up as a group or you will be placed with a group. The league is open to adult tennis players (USTA rated 2.5 -4.5) The cost is $25 per person.

A Spring Break Golf camp will be offered at the Wee Links at the Links Golf Course from Monday Apr. 5 - Friday Apr. 9. The class is open to children aes 6-16 at a cost of $55 per child. Each participant is required to bring their own set of clubs, including a putter.

The 1999 "Lung" golf privilege card is on sale now. The card offers free or reduced green fees at over 600 courses for only $25. Buy three and you get the fourth one for free. Last year the Golf Privilege card raised over $130,000 to aid in the fight against lung disease. Payments through Visa and MasterCard are accepted. The Brooks Area Recreation Department has announced their registration dates for the 1999 Dixie youth baseball season in Brooks Registration will be Saturdays, Feb. 13, 20 and 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Field House complex at The Ball Park in Brooks and the Administration Complex- Room 212 in Fayetteville. March 6, 7 and 8th, Peachtree City is hosting the Gatorade Peach State National, a major NBL Bicycle Motocross Event. The best racers in the country will descend upon Wiliam L. Davis BMX race for valuable national points, prizes and cash awards. The three-day event is expected to draw draw more than 5,000 spectators and participants. William L. Davis BMX is locate on Kelly Drive near the intersection of Hwy.74 and Kelly Drive in Peachtree City.

The event officially begins Friday afternoon with practice and registration In the evening a pre-race will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday begins with registration, bike inspections and practice at 7 a.m. Racing starts at 11 a.m. and will continue until late in the afternoon.
