Baton woes surface in PTC

Letters from Our Readers

My 7-year-old daughter Lauren was enrolled in a baton class through the Peachtree City Recreation Department that meets at the Kedron Field House.

On Feb. 1 the teacher, Cheeri Ashton, abruptly quit. Apparently, Cherri had been struggling with the management at the Field House over the promised space for her class.

Week after week basketball players were encroaching into the area that was promised to be available for the baton class. With no support from the management at the Field House, Cherri approached the class in tears and quit.

This leaves my daughter and countless other young girls without a class or a teacher. Wouldn't it be nice if the services and space promised were actually provided?

Maybe I'm just too idealistic. By the way, does anyone know a good baton teacher and a place to practice?
