Soccer Centre full of playoffs and tournament action

The Soccer Centre presents the Presidents' Day Atlanta 4-A-Side Tournament for all age groups at The Soccer Centre on Feb. 15. There will be separate divisions for Open and Recreational teams. The first tournament on Martin Luther King Day hosted 65 teams. The main arena at The Soccer Centre is divided into three smaller fields and the small arena provides four tournament fields. Each team will play seven games of eight minutes in the round robin tournament. Teams consist of a goalkeeper and three field players: each team may have up to two substitutes. The tournament fee is $85 per team. The registration deadline is Feb.8 or whenever the tournament is filled.

Three indoor soccer teams from Peachtree City recently scored big by winning the girls' varsity and JV championships and finishing second in the Under 19 boys league. The Samurai defeated Griffin Excel 4-2 in the Girls JV Championship and the Lazers 82 squeaked by the Fanatics for the Girls Varsity Championship. After a 6-1 season, the Arsenal was blown out by Macon Centric United, 9-0 in the Boys Under 19 match. The playoffs will continue at The Soccer Centre on Saturday, Feb. 6
