On Wednesday night, Fayette County, McIntosh, Starr's Mill and Sandy Creek got together for the county championships.

McIntosh won the meet with 288 overall points, while Fayette County took second with 154 overall points. Starr's Mill finished in third place with 103 points and Sandy Creek finished in fourth place with 56 points. The major variation came in the men's group where McIntosh took first place overall with 153 points. Fayette County, Starr's Mill and Sandy Creek were separated from the Chiefs by over a hundred points and each other by only 10 points. Things were a bit closer in the women's group as McIntosh beat Fayette County by an overall score of 135 to 100. Starr's Mill took third place with 59 points, while Sandy Creek scored nine points.

The Chiefs had 15 finishes that qualified them for the state meet Wednesday. Annya Lee, Becky Brokish, Molly MacGregor and Andy Brokish each qualified for two individual events, as did Fayette County's Calle Fielden. The Chiefs also qualified in five relay events, while the Tigers qualified for two. The state swim meet will be held on Friday, Feb. 19 and Saturday, Feb. 20.
