Maxie Jones

Maxie Jones, 84, East Point, died Jan. 23, 1999. She was born Feb. 16, 1914 in Fulton County, Ga.

Services were held at the Parrott Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dwayne Powell officiating. Interment was at Holly Hill Cemetery, Fairburn.

Survivors include her husband, William (Bill) Jones; a son, Dudley and Jane Jones, Tyrone; brothers, Dewey Shaw, Dallas, Ga. and Warren Shaw, College Park; sisters, Mary Lee Hudson, Union City and Martha Mabry, Ft. Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Tom and Mandy Horstman, Newnan and Cody and Tammy Walker, Tyrone; greatgrandchildren, Robby Horstman, Brittany Horstman and Kirsten Horstman, Dakota Walker and Clay Walker.

Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge of the arrangements.

Hazel Sewell

Hazel W. Sewell, 79, Grantville, died Jan. 26, 1999. She was born Sept. 26, 1919 in Coweta County, Ga., the daughter of Howard A. and Clara Lou Crain Walton. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Foster.

She was retired as a nurse from Peachtree Regional Hospital and had worked at the Newnan Health Dept.

Services were held at the McKoon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Darris Baker officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan.

Survivors include her husband, James P. Sewell, Grantville; a son, James A. and Suzanne Gillespie, Dunwoody, Ga.; a daughter, Alice S. and Harley Bonner, Grantville; a grandson, Jay Gillespie; granddaughters, Jennifer Gillespie and Sarah Caroline Bonner; and a brother-in-law, Rufus Foster.

McKoon Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge of the arrangements.

Lillian Wright

Lillian Wright, 74, Newnan, died Jan. 26, 1999. She was born Dec. 27, 1924 in Newnan, the daughter of Jim Irvin and Willie Mae Gravitt Webb. She was retired from Lorain Products and was a member of East Newnan Baptist Church.

Services were held at the Martin and Hightower Hillcrest Chapel with the Rev. Frank Powers and the Rev. Jerry Lassetter officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Newnan.

Survivors include her husband, Clifford U. Wright, Newnan; a son, George and Marie Abelt, Newnan; a daughter, Marion and Pat Helton, Newnan; brothers, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Wright and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Wright, all of Newnan; sisters, Nellie Phillips, McDonough and Alma Moore, Talledega, Ala.; a brother-in-law, Clifton Willingham, Newnan; and sisters-in-law, Florine Webb and Evelyn Wright, both of Newnan.

There are nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Martin and Hightower Hillcrest Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

Travis Acree

Travis H. Acree, 83, Luthersville, died Jan. 27, 1999. He was born March 14, 1915 in Calhoun, Ga., the son of Marvin and Webbie Hugins Acree. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae G. Acree.

He was retired from the DeKalb County Tax Office.

Graveside services were held at the Blackwood Springs Cemetery, Calhoun, Ga., with the Rev. Joe Felder officiating.

Survivors include a son, Gene M. Acree, Luthersville, and two granddaughters.

Bill McLemore

Bill McLemore, 60, Sharpsburg, formerly of Tyrone, died Jan. 28, 1999. He was born April 11, 1938 in Nicholls, Ga. He was preceded in death by his father, Dan McLemore.

Services were held at the Abundant Life Church of God with Pastor Calvin Smith and the Rev. Bill Priester officiating. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Ga.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Sue Lewis McLemore; a son, Scott McLemore, Sharpsburg; daughters Wendy and Joe Miller, Marietta and Cindy and Ronnie Hall, Fitzgerald; mother, Linnie McLemore, Nicholls, Ga.,; a brother, Tony McLemore, Alma; sisters, Mary Johnson, Bonnie Carter and Judy Williams, Alma; and grandchildren, Joseph and Katelyn Miller and Lindsey and Dru Hall.
