Internet 'Chat Night'
scheduled for Feb. 16

The Georgia Student Finance Commission will host a telephone and Internet "Chat Night" on college financial aid for Georgia parents and students Tuesday, Feb. 16 from 7-9 p.m.

Unlike previously nationally-focused Internet Chat Nights, this Georgia Chat Night will also be accessible by telephone and will focus exclusively on financial aid issues and concerns of Georgia students and parents. A group of college financial aid consultants plus representatives from the Georgia Association of Student Financial Aid Directors will be available to help answer such questions as filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); how to apply for federal and state scholarships; grant and loan programs, including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program; and important dates in the financial aid process.

The toll-free telephone number to participate is 1-800-776-6878 and the Internet address is www.gsfc.org.

The Commission administers Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program as well as other grants, loans and scholarships. Last year, the Commission provided financial assistance to more than 227,000 Georgia students.
