The Association of Fayette County Governments held its quarterly meeting and were unable to hold its annual elections. The by- laws require that a quorum be present of member elected officials of its entities and there were not an elected official present from Peachtree City and the Board of Education.

Legislative officials were also invited to be on hand and make a report of legislation effecting Fayette County. On hand were Kathy Cox, (R) State Representative District #105 and Greg Hecht, (D) State Senate District 34. They related the committees to which they had been appointed and the various pieces of legislation they were working on.

Cox commented that she was pleased to see the lines of communication open between the Fayette County entities. Hecht reminded everyone that it was appropriation time and he needed to hear from county officials now!

Brooks Councilmember, Caroline Brooks recommended that dues for this past year be waived as the treasury of $1,422.16 was sufficient for the time being.

Fayetteville Mayor, Mike Wheat, reported on the FUTURES Committee and related the accomplishments to date.

They include centralized purchasing and county owned or board of education buses could refuel wherever they were and not have to drive miles out of their way back to a home base and the sharing of major pieces of equipment.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, April 13, in Tyrone.
