The East Coweta Lady Indians are ranked ninth in AAAA basketball, at least until early next week. On Tuesday night they let one slip away to the 14th ranked McIntosh Lady Chiefs, 55-50. The East Coweta boys fell to the Chiefs as well on Tuesday, 67-57. East Coweta faces Carver on Friday night before traveling to their rivals, Newnan, on Tuesday.

As for McIntosh, they will meet their rivals, Fayette County, on Tuesday as well. The girls should move up in the rankings after handing East Coweta a loss on Tuesday and Griffin a loss last Saturday. The boys are not ranked currently but their 16-2 record is quite impressive. The Chiefs will host Lovejoy on Friday night and then Starr's Mill on Saturday night.

Fayette County hosts Stockbridge and Sandy Creek on Friday and Saturday respectively. Both the boys and the girls teams have played very well of late but the boys have been handed two one point losses to tough regional opponents. The boys should not overlook Sandy Creek. The Patriots lost a one point heartbreaker to 11th ranked Woodward Academy last weekend and looked explosive against Starr's Mill on Tuesday night.

Starr's Mill hosts Forest Park on Friday night before traveling up the street to McIntosh. If the girls shooting is on and the boys can control the pace of the game, Starr's Mill could surprise anybody. Games begin at 7 p.m. on Friday and at 6p.m. on Saturday.
