The Atlanta Hawks will welcome fans to the upcoming
season at two upcoming events that are free to the public at
the Alexander Memorial Coliseum at Georgia Tech.
On Saturday, January 23 at 6 p.m., the Hawks will hold
an NBA game style scrimmage, as head coach Lenny Wilkens
leads the players through four quarters of action. On the following
Saturday (Jan. 30), fans can return to Georgia Tech for the only
home preseason game of the 1998-99 exhibition schedule, as last
year's post-season opponent, the Charlotte Hornets, return for a
7:30 p.m. tip-off.
"We hope fans take these two opportunities to come and
interact with our team as we look forward to the start of the
1998-99 season," said Hawks Executive Vice President Lee Douglas.
While no ticket is required for the Jan. 23 scrimmage,
the method of ticket distribution for the Jan. 30 preseason game
has not been announced yet. The Hawks have also announced
their intention to invite Kentucky Alum Jeff Sheppard to
training camp.
