Missionaries reach out in New York's inner city

An "army of 100 missionaries" from Fayetteville First Baptist Church are preparing to travel to New York City later this year for evangelism and outreach. Members will take part in vacation Bible schools, homeless ministry, construction, English classes and seminars, basketball clinics, a dinner theater and evangelistic block parties. A similar trip last year made a positive, long-term difference in many New Yorkers' lives.

Children presenting 'Hee Haw Show' Sunday

The children's ministry of Fayetteville Christian Church is sponsoring a Hobo Dinner and Hee Haw Show Sunday starting at 5 p.m. There is no charge for the meal, but a love offering will be taken. Funds will be used toward audio-visual equipment for the children's ministry. For reservations, call the church at 770-461-8763.

Series helps 'catch up' on spiritual journey

"Lessons on Assurance," a new five-week discovery group designed for new Christ followers or those who need to do some "catching up" on their spiritual journey, is being offered at Braelinn Baptist Church, 777 Robinson Rd., Peachtree City. New Hope hosts 'Sunday Night Singing'

Bring the whole family to New Hope Baptist Church this Sunday at 6 p.m. for an evening of praise and celebration. There will be solos, ensembles, singing from hymnals, a great time of fellowship and even baptism. Call the church's music office at 770-460-4837 for more information. Church holds youth suicide prevention forum

Youth, grades 10 through college, are invited to share their views, attitudes and opinions about depression and suicide at 7 p.m. Monday in the Fellowship Hall of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, 175 E. Lanier Ave. The forum is sponsored by the Suicide Prevention Advocacy Network and the Students Assistance Professionals Association of Georgia. Confidentiality will be honored. Church exercise classes resume

Exercise classes are available at Fayetteville Christian Church, at the intersection of Hickory and New Hope roads, every Monday and Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 8:10 p.m.

Certified instructors lead the classes, which cost $20 per month. Participants meet in the Education Building for a time of physical conditioning and fellowship.
