The Fayette County Chamber of Commerce has ended its first full year in its new headquarters, the 1825 county courthouse and is making plans for its annual meeting to celebrate the year's accomplishments.

Chairman for the year has been Dot Kite, who points with pride to the year's campaign of "Together We Can."

The chamber participated in 20 ribbon cuttings, conducted round table discussions conducted by visiting businessmen and academics, assisted in county-wide surveys, put together a health insurance program for member businesses in the chamber, conducted monthly meetings for home-based businesses and small businesses, and established a speakers bureau to assist school teachers, among other accomplishments.

Through November, the group welcomed 158 new members.

The annual meeting has been announced for Saturday, Jan. 30, at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center in Peachtree City.

Speaker will be Capt. Jon McBride, USN (Retired). The astronaut piloted the Challenger (Mission 41-G) in 1984.

For reservations, phone 770-461-9983.
