The Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce announced the small business seminar, "Start-up Basics" will be held at the Chamber Jan. 20 from 2-5 p.m. Cost of the seminar is $30. The seminar is being offered through a partnership between the Newnan-Coweta Chamber, the Division of Continuing Education and Public Services at the State University of West Georgia and the Small business Development Center. The course provides an overview of the steps a person should go through in starting a business. Planning, identifying a product, finding a location, identifying a lending source and complying with governmental and legal issues will be discussed. The seminar is the first in a series to help new and existing small businesses in the county. Other seminars will focus on writing a business plan, marketing your business, competing with mass merchandising and dealing with the Y2K issue. All of the programs will be held at the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce at 23 Bullsboro Drive in Newnan. To register, contact the State University of west Georgia at 770-836-6610.
