The McIntosh Chiefs put their first loss ever at the county
duals behind them last weekend and traveled to Woodward
Academy for the War Eagle Classic. McIntosh placed third overall with
a score of 222 points.
The Chiefs had only one champion in the tournament, Matt
Waters at 275. Waters went 5-0 in the tourney. Three Chiefs finished
in second place overall; Carlos Dinkins at 103, Eddie Smith
at 135 and Michael Lee at 152. Smith improved his record to
28-2 and is wrestling extremely well.
Lukas Smith took third at 189, while Daniel Graham,
Jonathan Nieves and Clay Carruth each took fifth in their weight
groups. Larry Fattarusso wrestled admirably as he finished sixth at
119 and Bob Suter finished in sixth place as well at 215.
"We wrestled pretty well," said Coach Hutsell. " Considering
we had seven sophomores and one freshman starting." The
Chiefs don't wrestle again until they host the McIntosh duals this weekend.
