Starr's Mill's wrestling team is off to an impressive 17-1
start. The Panthers traveled to the Yellow Jacket Invitationals this
past weekend and won it all. There were twelve teams in the
tournament, including Paulding County and Alexander, which placed
second and third respectively. All 14 Panther wrestlers won
matches and scored points in the tournament. Stephen Behringer
took first place in the 189 weight grouping while Ariston
Bowers and Clint Barbour each took second place in their weight
divisions; Bowers in 135 and Barbour in 215. Starr's Mill had three
third place finishers; Gary James in 103, Jason Kiefer in 125
and Chris Coleman in 145. Danny Davidson took fourth place in
the 130 weight group.
The Panthers have this week off due to finals and will return
to action on Friday night when they host Jackson. Jackson is
coached by the old Fayette County High coach Kirk Hoffman. The
match starts at 6 p.m.
