Board of Realtors presents check to youth protection home

The Fayette County Youth Protection Home Inc. received a generous holiday present from the Fayette County Board of Realtors in the form of a $15,000 check.

The funds, which came from the proceeds of the Board of Realtors' annual "Noel November A Celebration of Trees and Wreaths," will be used to provide recreational and playground equipment for the new Asden Johnson Youth Protection Home in the Brooks area.

The board had originally set a goal of $10,000 to be raised at the fourth annual "Noel November," held Nov. 14 at the Kiwanis Fairgrounds in Fayetteville. Because of the success of the event, they were able to raise their contribution to $15,000.

The day's activities featured a public showing of the trees and wreaths that night. There was also special entertainment throughout the day.

The trees and wreaths featured in "Noel November" were contributed by local businesses, organizations, and individuals. In addition, the festival has always attracted a large group of sponsors who help with the cost of putting it together.

The Asden Johnson Home, a 6,200 sq. ft. brick building, is the Youth Protection's second facility in Fayette County. The Friday Home is located in North Fayette County.
