New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville hopes to provide some answers to some of the most difficult questions facing women in the upcoming women's conference titled, "What Matters Most."

The conference, which will be held Feb. 20, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., is a community-wide and state-wide event, that was envisioned by Donna Avant, leader of New Hope's women's leadership team.

So far, the church has mailed out over 700 invitations to churches across Georgia and are receiving an overwhelming response.

"God knows who needs to be here," said Donna Conrad, conference chairman. "One-thousand women is our goal, but the sanctuary will hold 2,500 and we'll do what we can if more come."

The title of the conference was chosen from the name of a song, sung by Cheri Keaggy, a Christian recording artist who will be performing and speaking at the conference. She will also be performing a concert at New Hope on Jan. 10 at 6 p.m. It is a free concert, however, a love offering will be taken.

The two other keynote speakers include Patricia Ashley, who was featured on "Focus on the Family," is a columnist for Excellence Magazine, and is an international speaker; and Janet Parshall, a radio and television commentator, author and family advocate. She also hosts her own radio show, "Janet Parshall's America" and has previously been a guest on Larry King Live.

Parshall will be speaking on "What matters most spiritually," while Ashley will be speaking on "What matters most relationally."

Local artist Taj Artis will lead praise and worship during the conference.

According to Conrad, the purpose of the conference is to be able to reach every kind of woman.

"Everyone's different," she said. "We want to reach all cultures and needs. This is not about new members."

"Women need each other. We cannot fix every problem, but God may open doors to solutions. God has confirmed in my heart that this is where we need to work."

Included in the conference is a choice of 21 break-out sessions, allowing women to choose an area that may directly minister to her needs. Among the topics are: "For Better or Worse," "Lonely, but not Alone," "Am I Raising Children or Just Raising Cain?" "Nine to Five," "What is the Grand in Grandparenting?" and many more.

There will be several guest speakers and missionaries leading the break-out sessions.

The cost of the conference is $30 for adults and $15 for students with a mother/daughter rate of $40. After Jan. 25, the cost will go up by $5. This price includes lunch and materials. No child care will be provided.

A simultaneous teen conference will be led by Patricia Ashley, titled "Heart, Mind and Soul," focusing on what matters most in a student's life.
