Harold Bost will chair the Fayette County Commission during 1999. Newly elected Commissioner Greg Dunn will act as vice chairman.

Commissioners elected the officers during their first meeting of 1999, last Wednesday.

The group also decided on Feb. 12 and 13 as dates for its annual planning retreat. Commissioners said they intend to conduct the meetings in Fayette County. They'll decide on a place for the meetings at their regular meeting Thursday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m.

The county Planning Commission also elected a chairman, vice chairman and secretary to conduct commission meetings during 1999, staying with the current officers. Chairman is Bob Harbison, vice chairman Fred Bowen, and secretary is Robyn Moore.

Service Merchandise is coming to Fayette Pavilion. The planned store's elevations will be on the agenda for the Fayetteville Planning Commission's meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

Also, Bob Adams Homes' controversial rezoning request for 100 homes on 20 acres on Beauregard Boulevard is slated for discussion . The matter was tabled from earlier meetings to give the company time to negotiate with residents opposed to the plan.

Development plans for Lowe's shopping center also are on the agenda.
