Edith McCall Blair

Edith McCall Blair, 52, Fayetteville, died Dec. 30, 1998. She was born Aug. 26, 1946 in Brevard, N.C.

Services were held at the Carl J. Mowell Chapel, Fayetteville, with the Rev. David Lawson officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn E. Blair, Fayetteville; sons, Bryan (and Alisaz) Blair and Brent Blair, all of Fayetteville; her mother, Dorothy H. McCall, Fayetteville; her father, Dallas McCall, Brevard, N.C.; a brother, Bob (and Pat) McCall, Brevard, N.C.; and sisters, Sue (and Wayne) Kuhne and Pat (and John) Grunden, all of Fayetteville.

Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge of the arrangements.

Bobby Upchurch

Robert Eugene "Bobby" Upchurch, 63, Tyrone, died Dec. 25, 1998. He was born Feb. 8, 1935 in Fulton County, Ga. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church for over 40 years and had served as Sunday school superintendent. He was a member of U.A.W. #882 and was retired from Ford Motor Assembly plant in Hapeville.

Services were held at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lawrence Burge and the Rev. Parks Davis officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery, Stewart Avenue, Atlanta.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly W. Upchurch, Tyrone; sons, Walker Eugene Upchurch and Stephen Wise (and Kimberly) Upchurch, all of Sharpsburg; a daughter Lisa Upchurch (and Andy) Pitman, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Drew and Jake Pitman, Hailey Upchurch and Logan Upchurch; brothers and sisters, Laura Hayes, Elmer T. Upchurch Jr., David Upchurch, Juanita Payne and Kenneth Upchurch; and his mother-in-law, Minnie Lee Wise, Fayetteville.

Margaret Adeleen Mask

Margaret Adeleen McWilliams Mask, 64, Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Fayetteville, died Dec. 26, 1998. She was born Dec. 23, 1934 in Fayette County, the daughter of E. C. and Berta Lee Moore Whitlock. She was preceded in death by her first husband, F. L. "Pat" McWilliams and a son, Bruce McWilliams.

Services were held at the Carl J. Mowell Chapel, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Raymond Bowers and the Rev. Franklin Treadwell officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park Cemetery, Fayetteville.

Survivors include her husband, Roger Mask, Jacksonville, Fla.; sons, Barry (and Doris) McWilliams, Peachtree City, and Jeff (and Phyllis) McWilliams, Fayetteville; stepson, Wade (and Sharron) Mask, Jacksonville; stepdaughter, Wanda Haymond, Jacksonville; brothers, Wyvis Whitlock, Fayetteville, and Bryant Whitlock, Jonesboro; sisters, Virginia Banks and Clois Bass, both of Fayetteville. There are 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mabel H. Thompson

Mabel H. Thompson, 93, Peachtree City, died Dec. 27, 1998. She was born March 1, 1905 in Washington County, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucian T. Thompson.

Services were held at the Peachtree City First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chuck Hodges officiating. Interment was at Manasota Memorial Park, Sarasota, Fla.

Survivors include a son. Lt. Col. Ret. Lucien T. (and Barbara) Thompson, Sarasota, Fla; daughters, Patricia (and Roger P.) Webb, Peachtree City, and Elizabeth J. Steffens, St. Maarten, N.A.; grandchildren, Dr. Lucien T. and Rosa Thompson, Plano, Texas, Michael C. Steffens, Boise, Idaho, Patrice Steffens, Atlanta, Randall W. and Tricia Thompson, Tucson, Ariz., Scott C. Webb, Peachtree City and Erik and Patricia Ann Siver, Cumming; sisters, Hazel Amerson, Sandersville and Helen Gilmore, Louisville, Ga. There are seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Peachtree City United Methodist Church or the American Diabetes Association.

Cora Bishop Willoughby

Cora Bishop Willoughby, 90, Fairburn, died Dec. 28, 1998. She was born June 8, 1908 in Fayette County, the daughter of William and Vess Banks Bishop.

Services were held at the Parrott Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Phillip Johnson and the Rev. Hershel Turner officiating. Interment was at Holly Hill Memorial Park, Fairburn, Ga.

Survivors include a son, Billy (and Carol) Willoughby, Fayetteville; daughters, Lizzie Mae Peek, Ellaville, Marjorie (and Wilson) Harris, Fayetteville, and Polly (and Maxie) Davis, Palmetto; sisters, Minnie Lee Scott, Smyrna (and Mattie) Banks, Griffin. There are seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Bob Self Jr.

Robert F. "Bob" Self Jr., 51, College Park, died Dec. 31, 1998. He was born Jan. 8, 1947 in Greenville, Ga. He was owner of Floor Coverings of Georgia in Riverdale.

Memorial services will be Jan. 8, 1999 at the Riverdale Church of God, Ga. Highway 85 at Scott Road, Riverdale, Pastor Arthur Smith officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Monette Self, College Park, a son, Robert Self, College Park, a daughter, Amanda (and Chuck) Whiteman, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Nicole Whiteman, Heather Whiteman and Cameron Whiteman; sisters, Vickie Self, Warm Springs, Ga., Betty Ann (and Jerry) Albert, Atlanta; and his mother-in-law, Tommie Davis, Fayetteville.

Memorial donations may be made to the Southwest Christian Hospice, 7225 Lester Rd., Union City, Ga. 30291.

Jimmy West Sr.

James "Jimmy" West Sr., 53, Fayetteville, died Jan. 3, 1999. He was born Jan. 28, 1945 in Fulton County.

Services were held at the Parrott Funeral Home Chapel, with interment at Holly Hill Cemetery, Fairburn.

Survivors include his wife, Diane West, Fayetteville; sons, Eddie West, Fairburn, Danny West and James West Jr., both of Fayetteville; and a granddaughter, Haley Diane West.

William Henry Driskell

William Henry Driskell, 73, Fayetteville, died Jan. 1, 1999. He was born May 17, 1925 in Hapeville, Ga. He had been a traffic controller for a trucking company.

Services were held at the Eternal Hills Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Holt officiating. Interment was at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville.

Survivors include his son, William Barry Driskell, Chamblee, Bryan and Jenny Driskell, Fayetteville, Bradley and Penny Driskell, McDonough, and Christopher and Holly Driskell, McDonough; and a sister, Sara Jane (and Henry) Twilley, Lilburn. There are six grandchildren.
