As America prepares to ring in the new year, I thought it was so profound to witness the complete destruction of N.O.W. (the National Organization of Women).

Patricia "I wish you were in" Ireland, Eleanor Smeal, and Gloria Steinem all decried the actions of Senator Bob Packwood for kissing women who worked for him. They attack Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, as well, for a 10-year-old, unsubstantiated comment he supposedly made to feminist Anita Hill.

Their cries of outrage cost Packwood his job. Yet, they ignore a clear case of sexual harassment against Paula Jones and the obvious anti-women behavior of Bill Clinton. It must be because N.O.W. is a liberal Democratic Party bunch of nags.

The best part of 1999 will be the knowledge that N.O.W. has become W.A.S. (Women Alibiing Stupidly). Maybe W.I.S.H.E.D. would be more accurate. (Women Ignoring Sexual Harassment by Every Democrat).
