Janice Karin Walker

Janice Karin Walker, 48, Union City, died Dec. 6, 1998. She was born Feb. 9, 1950 in Troup County, Ga.

Services were held at the Carl J. Mowell Chapel, Fayetteville, with the Rev. E. C. Chatham officiating. Interment was at the College Park Cemetery, College Park, Ga.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Walker, Union City; daughters, Lisa Rena Black, Fayetteville and Amy L. Brooks, Kennesaw; grandchildren, Adam, Brandi, Cameron and Matthews; brothers, James M. Borders, Tyrone and Larry L. Borders, McDonough; and sisters, Joan R. Lee and Patsy R. Cleghorn, both of Fayetteville, and Donna Weinberg, Douglasville.

Joe Crosson

Joe Crosson, 76, Newnan, died Dec. 2, 1998. He was born Oct. 1, 1922 in Philadelphia, Pa., the son of Cornelius Aloyicious and Regina Egan Crosson. He had served in the Navy in World War II and was retired as a technical services manager for Crown & Seal Co.

He was a member of the Peachtree Regional Senior's Group, and was a Eucharist Minister at St. George Catholic Church.

Services were held at St. George Catholic Church with Father Leo Herbert officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Newnan.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Crosson, Newnan; sons, Neil Crosson, Allentown, Pa. and Robert Crosson, Peachtree City; a sister, Margaret Maguire, Philadelphia, Pa.; and two grandchildren, Jennifer Crosson and Ryan Crosson.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. George Catholic Church Building Fund.

Jack "E.T." Sherrer

Jack "E. T." Sherrer, 83, Newnan, died Dec. 8, 1998. He was born July 17, 1915 in Fulton County, Ga., the son of Orrien and Lula Sherrer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Sherrer.

He had served in the United States Army during World War II and had been selfemployed as a carpenter.

Graveside services were held at the Elim Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ford Ash officiating.

Survivors include his son, George Sherrer, Fayetteville and a brother, Orrien Sherrer, East Point, Ga. There are two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorial donations may be made to Elim Baptist Church, 1529 Handy Rd., Newnan, 30263.

Grace Thames

Grace Thames, 88, Fayetteville, died Dec. 7, 1998. She was born July 25, 1910 in DeKalb County, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hewlette Donald Thames, Sr.

Services were held at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Overton, the Rev. Frank Ellis and the Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

Survivors include sons, Hewlette Donald and Carolene Thames, Jr., and Allen M. and Nancy Thames, all of Fayetteville; and a daughter, Vivian and Andy Carden, Fayetteville. There are seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Fayetteville First Baptist Church Building Fund.

James Vernon Stinchcomb

James Vernon Stinchcomb, Sr., 85, Port Richey, Fla., died Dec. 10, 1998. He was born Jan. 5, 1913, in Fayette County, the son of William L. and Esther Glower Stinchcomb.

Services were held at the Carl J. Mowell Chapel, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Daniel Overdorf officiating. Interment was at the Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Peachtree City.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Murdock Stinchcomb, Port Richey, Fla.; a son, James V. Stinchcomb, Jr., Tallahassee, Fla.; and a sister, Lucy Stubbs, Union City, Ga. There are eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mary Arlene Kelly Kilpatrick

Mary Arlene Kelly Kilpatrick, 81, Fayetteville, died Dec. 10, 1998. She was born July 19, 1917 in Fireco, W. Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Franklin Kilpatrick, Sr.

Graveside services were held at the Greenville Memorial Gardens, Greenville, S.C.

Survivors include children, Sandra Ann and James Scogin, Fayetteville, Charles Franklin Kilpatrick, Jr., and James Coleman Kilpatrick, both of Liberty S.C. and Richard Kelly Kilpatrick, Loganville, Ga.; granddaughters, Tony Kay Dean and Melissa Ann Kilpatrick; three great-granddaughters; siblings Dorothy Pilson, Stuart, Va., Violette Chisholm, Lynchburg, Va., Patricia Charnock, Madison Heights, Va., Edith Frazier, Altavista, Va. and Jean Woody, Amherst, Va.

Hugh F. White

Hugh F. White, 81, Jonesboro, died Dec. 13, 1998. He was born July 26, 1917 in Aragon, Ga. He was retired as a salesman for Beaudry Ford, Atlanta, with over 50 years of service. He was a member of the Forest Park Masonic Lodge #399 F&AM and a 20 year member of Lake Spivey Country Club.

Services were held at the Parkway Garden Chapel, Forest Park, with the Rev. Ken Fuller officiating. Interment was at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Jonesboro.

Survivors include his wife, Louise White, Jonesboro; sons, Kenneth and Patricia White, and Don White, all of Jonesboro; a daughter, Sandra and Frank Milavec, Fayetteville, a daughter-in-law, Wanda Ivey; a brother, Rader White, Marietta; and sisters, Velma Wright, Douglasville and Lottie Coogler, Decatur.

There are seven grandchildren.

Parkway Garden Chapel, Forest Park, was in charge of the arrangements.

Eva Lee Thomas Moore

Eva Lee Thomas Moore, 85, Fayetteville, died Dec. 13, 1998. She was born Oct. 7, 1913 in Fayette County. She was the daughter of Will and Minnie Chapman Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey C. Moore.

Services were held at the Senoia City Cemetery with the Rev. Wilson Williams officiating.

Survivors include sons, Billy and Carole Moore, Senoia and Merrell and Dianna Moore, Fayetteville; daughters, Edna and Richard Whaley, Betty and Donald Wick and Edith and Charles Whitener, all of Fayetteville, and Phyllis Plemons, Madisonville, Tenn.

There are 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Tommy L. Farr

Tommy L. Farr, 56, Peachtree City, died Dec. 15, 1998. He was born Jan. 22, 1942 in Harrison, Tenn. He was retired from Ford Motor Company and was a member of the Collins Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church, Peachtree City, and was President of the Dover Square Homeowner's Assoc.

Services were held at the Carl J. Mowell Chapel, Peachtree City, with Dr. Harold Allen officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy P. Farr, Peachtree City; a son, Tommy Lynn Farr, Jr., Cookeville, Tenn.; a daughter, Melanie and Steve Wallace, Monroe, Ga.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, Peachtree City.

Catherine Elizabeth Gandee

Catherine Elizabeth Gandee, 87, Peachtree City, died Dec. 14, 1998. She was born Jan. 7, 1911 in Alton Ill., the daughter of Frederick and Mabel Mather Haberer. She was graduated from Shurtleff College in Illinois and studied art at Washington University in St. Louis. During her college career her artistic works won top honors at the Illinois State Fair.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Gandee and for a number of years they had resided in Alton, Ill., Columbus, Ohio and Toledo, Ohio.

A memorial service was held at the First Unitarian Church, Toledo.

Survivors include her son, James F. and Dottie K. Gandee, Peachtree City; a daughter, Carol E. and Peter B. Shough, Columbus, S.C.; grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn George, Dublin, Ohio, Richard James Shough, Haiku, Maui, HI, Jaime Katherine Gandee and Todd Mather Gandee, both of Peachtree City; great-granddaughters, Madeleine Elizabeth George, Olivia Caroline George and Altana Elizabeth Shough.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Ashley Glen, Memory-Impaired Unit, 441 Prime Point, Peachtree City, Ga. 30269.

Michelle Leigh Icenhour

Michelle Leigh Icenhour, 29, Fayetteville, died Dec. 6, 1998. She was born Sept. 14, 1969 in Georgia.

Services were held at the Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville.

Survivors include her mother, Thelma Hale, Fayetteville; father, Bill Icenhour, Cartersville, a brother, Charles Timbs, Dallas, Texas; and a sister, Robin R. Denig, Douglasville; and a grandmother, Mamie Garrett, Peachtree City.

Verle Lee Rinehart

Verle Lee Rinehart, 66, Fayetteville, died Dec. 11, 1998. He was born July 20, 1932 in Marion County, Iowa.

Services were held at the Peachtree City United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chuck Hodges officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene S. Rinehart, Fayetteville; sons, Randy and Linda Rinehart, Peachtree City and Steven and Barbara Rinehart, New York City, N.Y.; a daughter, Carrie and Mark Davison, Fayetteville; his mother, Gladys Rinehart, Knoxville, Iowa; a brother, Ronald and Judy Rinehart, Des Moines, Iowa; a sister, Maxine and Fred Thomson, Monroe, Iowa; father-in-law, Jeremiah Bergeson, Story City, Iowa; and an uncle, Kenneth and Jane Van Brogen, Harrison, Arkansas.

There are grandchildren, Matthew, Joel, Maria, Alexander, Charles and Josephine.

John Stallings Graden

John Stallings Graden, 69, Fayetteville, died Dec. 13, 1998. He was born Sept. 8, 1929 in Atlanta, Ga. He was a Deacon at Fayette Presbyterian Church and a member of Toastmasters. He had been a chemist for Lockheed, had worked at Rich's Dept. Store and was an author. After retirement he enjoyed substitute teaching in Fayette County and speaking for the American Cancer Society.

Graveside services were held at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Graden, Fayetteville; nephews, Joe Dersch, Winder and Alan Dean, Buford; a niece, Susan Chavis, Bennettsville, S.C.; and a stepdaughter, Stacey Perritt, Waycross, Ga.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Fayette Presbyterian Church or Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home.

Rosa "Edith" McCalla

Rosa "Edith" McCalla, 73, Fayetteville, died Dec. 15, 1998. She was born Sept. 1, 1925 in Lula, Banks County, Ga.

Services were held at the Inman United Methodist Church with Dr. David Campbell and the Rev. Dale Weldon officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, David S. McCalla, Fayetteville; sons, John and Monica McCalla, Tyrone and Paul and Sherri McCalla, Senoia; brothers, Gene Hyder, Riverdale and Randall Hyder, Macon; there are five grandchildren.
