* Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, on Ga. Highway 314 in north Fayetteville, hopes to break ground on its expansion program in early January.

The Fayetteville City Council will consider the church's rezoning request to allow the expansion Jan. 4. The Planning Commission last week voted to recommend approval of the zoning, and also approved development plans for the project.

The Planning Commission is a recommending body for zoning petitions, but can approve the development plans directly.

* A Fayetteville resident will seek advice from a professional satellite dish installer before asking the city Planning Commission to waive its rules against putting dishes in front yards.

Heath Turner had asked for a variance from regulations because trees surrounding his Parkside Drive home have blocked his attempts to install the satellite dish in a side yard or the back.

But commission members during a recent work session wondered whether the dish could be mounted on the roof or the side of the house so that it could be aimed over the trees.

Turner last week asked that his request be tabled until the commission's January meeting, to give him time to answer those questions.
