U.S. Air Force Airman Matthew Chandler has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

During the six weeks of training, Chandler studied the Air Force mission, organization and customs, and received special training in human relations.

Chandler, a graduate of Habersham Central High School, is the son of Morgan Chandler of Fayetteville and Nancy Chandler of Marietta.

U.S. Army Private Robert J. Lohr has entered basic military training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the eight weeks of training, the soldier will study the Army mission and will receive instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, Army history and traditions, and special training in human relations.

Lohr, a graduate of McIntosh High School, is the son of Robert and Vicky Lohr of Peachtree City.
