8 churches join to present 'Messiah'

An ecumenical choir of 45 voices will present Handel's Messiah Sunday, Dec. 13 at 3 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City. The church is at the corner of Ga. Highway 54 and Walt Banks Road on the city's eastern side.

The chorus, under the direction of Claire Stroud, will be accompanied by the Fayette Chamber Orchestra and Organ. Soloists include sopranos Wendy Wilson and Cindy Guerrero; alto, Ellen Koons; tenor, David Beecher; and bass, Daniel Wible and Quentin Van Meter.

Members from eight area churches are participating in the oratorio. They include Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, Peachtree City; Covenant Presbyterian Church, Fayetteville; Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Peachtree City; Living Word Ministry, Sharpsburg; National Heights Baptist Church, Fayetteville; Peachtree City United Methodist Church; St. Andrew's in-the-Pines Episcopal Church, Peachtree City; and St. George's Catholic Church, Newnan.
