Fayette Senior Services collecting donations for Hurricane Mitch victims


Fayette Senior Services is collecting donations for victims of Hurricane Mitch. Suggested items include drinking water, baby food and formula, powdered or canned milk, canned foods, dried beans, rice, vegetable oil, disposable diapers, cooking utensils, paper towels, bowls, plates and cups, eating utensils, flashlights, batteries, chlorine bleach, pain relievers, anti-diarrhea medicines, cotton balls and pads, hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, bandages, gauze, anti-fungus ointments and antibacterial soaps.

They will be collecting through Dec. 7 at Fayette Senior Services, 390 Lee Street, Fayetteville. They are located behind Melears Barbecue, off Ga. Highway 85 South at the square. Items should be taken to the garage behind the center Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., or Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
