Two growing holiday traditions will kick off the holiday season next week in Senoia.

On Dec. 4, the 15th annual Senoia Area Historic Society auction will be held at the group's headquarters on Pylant Street. The auction starts promptly at 7 p.m. and curious buyers will find a wide variety of items from the society's members.

Next Saturday, hundreds will crowd into downtown Senoia for the Light Up Senoia festival. The festival was started last year and features the town's quaint downtown business area decorated with hundreds of light. The celebration starts at 7 p.m. and features entertainment from East Coweta High School, East Coweta Middle School, Eastside Elementary School, Senoia United Methodist Church and Senoia First Baptist Church.

After the choirs serenade the start of the season, the jolly old elf from the North Pole will make his first visit to Senoia.
