Within the next two months, residents in eastern Coweta County should know
whether the commercialization of Ga. Highway 34 will continue.
This Tuesday, the Coweta County Commission will set a public hearing on
Jan. 4 for a rezoning of a 25-acre tract located at the corner of Fischer
Road and Hwy. 34. The tract is located across the street from Rareplants
Nursery and Billy Cranford wants the property rezoned from RR to C-7.
Coweta Planning Director Robert Tolleson said Cranford's initial plans call
for a 44,000 square-feet grocery store, along with other retail
establishments.
Other items for discussion on Tuesday's agenda include:
* An amendment to the Coweta County Zoning Ordinance to include private
wastewater spray irrigation field facilities.
* The presentation of the 1999 budget and setting of the public hearing to
discuss it.
* A request from Transco Gas Pipeline for reimbursement in conjunction with
relocating facilities on Welcome Road at Mountain Creek.
