This week is National Bible Week, a week sponsored since 1941 by the National Bible Association to encourage everyone to read the Bible.

The nonprofit, nondenominational group believes reading the Bible is important for its profound influence on many aspects of Western culture, its ethical and moral teachings, and the wisdom and spiritual guidance it has offered.

National Bible Week is Nov. 22-29.
