Hate-filled, bigoted killers vs. plain old dispassionate killers

Letters from Our Readers

In Mr. Weaver's letter in the Nov. 18 Citizen, he states: "This hate crimes movement makes no sense."

But it is so simple. You are to embrace any policy, no matter how obtuse, that will take action against any form of bigotry. In this case we must differentiate mere killers from killers motivated by hate.

Certainly we can not allow homophobic killers to be treated the same as child killers. I mean, have you no consideration for the feelings of others; we cannot allow people to go around hating someone's lifestyle and then kill them what will they think?

Such hate-filled killers are much worse than killers who just kill.

Surely you must feel so much better knowing that future killers will be certain to kill in a dispassionate manner without hate.

This is a goal worth seeking: the soulless unemotional killer.

Still doesn't make any sense? Think about this. The liberals have made it plain that they believe passionate commitment in marriage is unnecessary, that no one should feel the loss of self-esteem or the sadness of failure.

Liberals also believe that the glory of achievement is "merely winning the lottery of life," that all you have or need has been given to you by society, most especially by liberals.

Maybe liberals just want to kill another passion. No hate, no love, no sadness, no glory of achievement; just transactions, like buying candy at the store.
