Rebecca Levin
ready to shine at
Nov. 21 'Stars'

Stars on the Southern Crescent coffee house, noted for its eclectic mix of performers and styles since 1993, will present Atlanta actress-singer Rebecca Levin performing Broadway and jazz favorites Saturday, Nov. 21.

A graduate in musical theater from Syracuse University, Levin has performed throughout the metro Atlanta area. Southside audiences may recognize Levin from her five seasons as Katorina the Minstrel with the Georgia Renaissance Festival or her portrayal of Sara in last winter's "Going to See the Elephant." She recently returned from New York where she appeared in the Broadway workshop of "Kevorkian Cafe," a musical production.

In addition to Levin, storyteller Nancy Kavanaugh will share "stories your mother never told you," and Leslie Boyette, musical director at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Peachtree City, will offer piano favorites.

Stars on the Southern Crescent is presented by Offshoot Productions and will be at National Heights Baptist Church, located at Ga. Highway 54 and Old Norton, about three miles west of downtown Fayetteville. Doors open at 7:45 p.m. and the entertainment begins at 8:15 p.m. Homemade desserts, gourmet coffee, herbal tea, hot spiced apple cider and cold drinks will be available. Patrons who bring their own mugs receive a discount on hot beverages and are eligible for the "Most Unusual Mug Award."

General admission is $5, with a special $4 price for seniors and for children under age 12.
