Bernardine " B.J." Kolman

Bernardine "B. J." Kolman, 55, Fayetteville, died Nov. 6, 1998. She was born Oct. 21, 1943 in Evanston, Ill. She was an active member of the Fayette County Fire and Emergency Services as a volunteer firefighter/E.M.T. She was also active in working with nursing homes and retirement communities.

Services were held at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Fayetteville, with interment at All Saints Cemetery in Illinois.

Survivors include sons, Daniel Kolman and David Kolman, and a daughter, Joanne Kolman, all of Fayetteville; a brother, Larry McCauley, Evanston, Ill.; sisters, Kathy Anthony, San Francisco, Calif., Eileen Schmalkuch, St. Louis, Mo., and Mary McCauley, Evanston, Ill; there are six grandchildren.

Sherry Ann McKinstry

Sherry Ann McKinstry, 54, Fayetteville, died Oct. 31, 1998. She was born Feb. 10, 1944 in Lee County, Ala.

Memorial services were held at the Carl. J. Mowell Chapel, Fayetteville, with the Rev. David Helms officiating.

Survivors include her husband, Reynolds Floyd McKenstry, Senoia; children, Keith and Nikie McKinstry, Columbus, Ga., Scott McKinstry, Fayetteville, and Adrian and Brian Hill, Fayetteville; a brother, Robbie McConnell, Norcross, Ga.; there are seven grandchildren.

Ida Louise Shepard Cole

Ida Louise Shepard Cole, 91, died Nov. 12, 1998. She was born in Birmingham, Ala., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Smythe Shepard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Wheeler Cole (1951), whom she had married in 1936.

She was a member of the Cahawba Chapter, Daughter's of the American Revolution, the Pinson United Methodist Church and dedicated much of her life to family genealogy.

Graveside services were held at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Ala.

Survivors include a brother, Elman John Shepard, Lakeland, Fla., a sister, Mildred S. Oliver, Shreveport, La.; a nephew, John Oliver, Bossier City, La.; and nieces, Joyce Russell, Peachtree City, Sheriene Girardin, Lakeland, Fla. and Ann Battle, Birmingham, Ala.

JoAnn Renee Craven

JoAnn Renee Craven, 45, Peachtree City, died Nov. 9, 1998. She was born Oct. 1, 1953 in Kankakee, Ill.

A Christian Prayer Service was held at the Carl J. Mowell Chapel, Peachtree City, with Father Jim Sextone officiating. Interment was at Kankakee, Ill.

Survivors include her husband, Ed Craven, Peachtree City; a daughter, Jessica Craven, Peachtree City; her mother, Bernice Rieck, Bradley, Ill; and a cousin, Elmer Rieck, Kankakee, Ill.

Pamela Marie Spencer

Pamela Marie Spencer, 44, Fayetteville, died Nov. 3, 1998. She was born April 12, 1954 in Atlanta, Ga.

Services were held at the Carl J. Mowell Chapel, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Gene Wilson officiating.

Survivors include her husband, William D. Spencer, Fayetteville; sons, Derik Alan Dunlap, Fayetteville and Jason Scott Bigham, Newnan; a brother, the Rev. Gene Wilson, Conyers; and sisters, Phyllis Bryson, Lawrenceville and Nancy Lewis, Doraville. There are two grandchildren.

Matthew Jason Cheatwood

Matthew Jason Cheatwood, 24, Fayetteville, died Nov. 1, 1998. He was killed in an automobile accident. He was born May 7, 1974 in Fulton County, Ga. and was a 1991 graduate of Fayette County High School. He was owner of the Southern Rod and Custom Shop in Jonesboro and was a member of the Georgia Outsiders Car Club.

Services were held at the Carl J. Mowell Chapel, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Hugh Kirby officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

Survivors include his parents, Preston and Patsy Cheatwood, Fayetteville; a brother, Joshua Paul Cheatwood and a sister, Mandy Cheatwood; grandparents, Duane and Wyatt Moore, Fayetteville; and a niece, Sydney Marie Wagner.

Joseph Timothy O'Callaghan

Joseph Timothy O'Callaghan, 78, Fayetteville, died Oct. 29, 1998. He was born Feb. 17, 1920 in Stoughton, Norfolk County, Mass. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lynn Adamson O'Callaghan.

Services were held at the Carl J. Mowell Chapel, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Carlton Swicegood and the Rev. Paul Moody officiating. Interment was at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Forest Park.

Survivors include a daughter, Lynette and Ray Sims, Fayetteville; and a daughter-inlaw, Wanda O'Callaghan, Athens. There are five grandchildren.

Evelyn Vellguth

Evelyn Vellguth, 86, Fayetteville, died Oct. 31, 1998. She was born June 23, 1912 in Memphis, Tenn.

Services were held at the Carl J. Mowell Chapel, Fayetteville, with Bill Oliver officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

Survivors include cousins, Joe and Bettye Snowden, Fayetteville, Penny Anderson, Fayetteville, Helena Eudave, Cottonwood, Ariz. and Ronald Barditzky, Sturry, England, and close friends, Bill and Norma Oliver, Lithonia.

Martha J. Claggett Conyers

Martha J. Claggett Conyers, 67, Fayetteville, died Nov. 10, 1998. She was born Oct. 9, 1931 in Jefferson County, Ky. She was active at Kenwood Christian Church and in Bible Study Fellowship there.

Services were held at the O. D. White Funeral Home, Louisville, Ky. with Minister Jeff Robinson officiating. Interment was at Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville.

Survivors include sons, Jim Claggett, Nicholasville, Ky., Tom Claggett, New Albany, Ind., and Olin Claggett, Goshen, Ky.; a daughter, Brenda Jones, Fayetteville; a brother, Marvis Higgs, Louisville, Ky.; a sister, JoAnn Stockdell, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; there are five grandsons and two granddaughters.

Patrick Wayne Honeycutt

Patrick Wayne Honeycutt, 18, Douglasville, died Nov. 10, 1998. He was born July 18, 1980 in Tallapoosa County, Ala. He was a senior at Paulding County High School.

Services were held at the Fayetteville Christian Church with the Rev. Daniel Overdorf officiating. Interment was at Valley Grove Cemetery, Hollins, Ala.

Survivors include his father, Wayne and Sherry Honeycutt, Douglasville; his mother, Melody and John Tripp, Jr., Fayetteville; a sister, Danna Honeycutt, Douglasville; a stepbrother, David Honeycutt, Douglasville; and grandparents, Lester and Mary Johns, Hollins, Ala., James and Sarah Honeycutt, Sylacauga, Ala, John and Diane Tripp, Sr., Fayetteville, and Russell and Martha Alsabrook, Millbrook, Ala.

James W. Arnoldi

James W. Arnoldi, 51, Peachtree City, died Nov. 10, 1998. He was born on Dec. 19, 1946 in Passaic County, Patterson, N.J. He was the owner of the Home Supply and Lumber Center, Hawthorne, N.J.

Services were held at the Carl J. Mowell Chapel, Peachtree City, with the Rev. Dale Welden officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City.

Memorial services will be held later at the Hawthorne Gospel Church, New Jersey, at which a dear friend, Pastor James Richmond will be officiating.

Patricia "Louise" Pyron

Patricia "Louise" Pyron, 74, Fayetteville, died Nov. 9, 1998. She was born Oct. 15, 1924 in Fayette County, the daughter of James L. and Pauline Head McElwaney. She had been employed at Melears Restaurant for 34 years.

Services were held at the Carl J. Mowell Chapel, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Bill Priester officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth and Elaine Pyron, Newnan; and daughters, Lynn Harris, Fayetteville and Sherry Hannah, Locust Grove. There are seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Inelle Adams, 80, Fayetteville, died Nov. 6, 1998. She was born March 24, 1918 in Fayette County, the daughter of Richard and Mary Jane (Molly) Rivers Ellington.

She was retired from the Arrow Shirt Company with 31 years of service.

Services were held at Flat Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Priester officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin Adams; a son, Russell and Virginia Adams, Fayetteville; a daughter, Beverly and Jerry Cleveland, Fayetteville; grandchildren, Billy and Terri Abbate, Jonesboro, Glenn and Tracy Taylor, Fayetteville, and Craig and Lisa Cleveland, Atlanta; a great-grandchild, Mary Katherine Taylor, Fayetteville; and sisters, Velma Edmondson and Ruth Hughes, both of Fayetteville; and Grace West, Riverdale.

David Brewster

David Brewster, SMSGT USAF-Ret., 62, died Nov. 14 in Hampton, Va.

A native of Newnan, Ga., he had lived in Hampton for many years. He was a civilian mechanical engineering technician for private industry and the U.S. Navy Atlantic Fleet Technical Support Center for 20 years, after retiring with 22 years of exemplary service in the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his father, Early Brewster. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Frances P. Brewster; his mother, Flora Slade of Newark, N.J.: sons, Derwin Brewster, Newport News, Va., Brian Brewster of Hampton, Va., David Anthony Brewster of Tampa, Fla; daughter, Belinda Brewster-Clemence of Greensboro,N.C.; uncles J.C. Morgan and Ed Morgan of Atlanta, and a number of other relatives outside of Georgia.

Funeral services were held at Little Zion Baptist Church in Hampton with the Rev. Timothy Hampton presiding. Cooke Brothers Funeral Home of Newport News was in charge of arrngements.
