Regarding the article published in The Citizen regarding the changes in the application for the Peachtree City Foreign Trade Zone, Oct. 23, 1998, you quoted me as saying we (PCDA: the Peachtree City Development Authority) has collected fees of which 66 percent went to GFTZ (Georgia Foreign Trade Zone Inc.). At this point in time, no fees have been collected and none are due to be collected for months to come. I never would have made that statement, nor did I tell you that fees had or have been collected. Regarding the latter part of that statement, I believe it was quoted out of context. The services provided by PCDA/FTZ Operations are far more detailed than those offered by GFTZ. Comparatively speaking, there is a big difference in the level of services offered by PCDA and those offered by GFTZ, and to pay GFTZ more than what PCDA receives for the service rendered to a FTZ user is inequitable. I would like for your paper to regard the above as factual and to print it as such. If there are any questions to the above, please contact me at your convenience. Jim Cromwell
