PTC Council eyes siren system for bad weather

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

The Peachtree City Council will hear information about an "Early Warning System" for the city at the regular council meeting Thursday Nov. 19, 7 p.m. at City Hall.

The city has received considerable damage from high winds during storms in the past few years. State and federal agencies are participating in a program to help provide audible warning systems for cities as severe storms or tornadoes approach.

Also on the agenda is a report from Colin Halterman of the city's Public Works Division on the possibility of seeking designation as a "Tree City USA" from the National Arbor Day Society.

Other items for discussion include appointments to the Recreation Commission, changes in alcoholic beverage licenses for several golf courses, and a zoning variance on Fairfield Drive.
